Giovanna (“Gia”) A. Abreu is an associate at MARKO & MAGOLNICK, P.A. She practices primarily in the area of commercial litigation. She has experience in estate, trust, and guardianship litigation and administration, minimum and overtime wage disputes, professional liability defense, complex business litigation, property disputes, contractual disputes, fraud investigation and litigation, and insurance and bad faith claims.
Ms. Abreu was admitted to the Bar in 2012 and received her law degree from Florida International University College of Law, where she was the Vice President of the Women’s Law Society, the Graduate Assistant to Dr. Stanley Fish, Dean’s Fellow to the Assistant Dean of Development, and judicial intern for the Honorable Arthur L. Rothenberg, Circuit Court Judge in the Probate Division of the Eleventh Judicial Circuit in Miami-Dade, Florida. Ms. Abreu received the Book Award in Legal Research and Writing II and was placed on the Dean’s List for several semesters.
Ms. Abreu received her bachelor’s degree in International Relations from Florida International University. While attending Florida International University, she was an active member of the Alpha Omicron Pi Fraternity and held several elected leadership positions.
Ms. Abreu is also a member of the Florida Association for Women Lawyers, Miami-Dade Chapter, the Cuban American Bar Association, and the Dade County Bar Association.
Originally from Miramar, Puerto Rico, Ms. Abreu has lived in South Florida since 2004, and is fluent in Spanish.
